Biography
Anthony Bugo graduated from Nipissing University in 2000 and Osgoode Hall Law School in 2003. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2004 and has practiced exclusively as criminal defence counsel since that time. He is a member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association and the Toronto Lawyers' Association. His practice is restricted to criminal litigation in the Ontario trial courts.
Anthony has extensive experience in the courtroom and has successfully defended individuals in the criminal courts throughout the GTA and parts of southern Ontario. Every case is defended vigorously with the goal of obtaining the most positive result possible for the client. Expert witnesses, private investigators, and assisting counsel are frequently used and consulted with the goal of presenting a comprehensive and persuasive defence in court. Every resource available is utilized to secure the best possible outcome in every case.
Anthony has represented persons charged with every type of criminal offence, including Murder, Attempt Murder, Manslaughter, firearm offences, Robbery, frauds, sexual offences, drug crimes, domestic violence, drinking and driving offences, and crimes against the administration of justice. He frequently defends young persons facing allegations of serious criminal conduct. He regularly takes on difficult cases and provides skillful representation to those who find themselves in the most challenging of circumstances. Most of the individuals whom he represents are persons referred to him by other lawyers.
Anthony is frequently called upon to provide advice to other counsel about their cases, and mentors numerous junior members of the criminal defence bar in Toronto. He has gained the respect of the Judiciary, Crown Attorneys, and Defence Counsel alike.
