Biography
After studying International Development, Sumitra Lagoo saw herself going into the policy side of law. That changed when a chance to article at The Morris Law Group arose in 2004.
Sumitra grabbed hold of the opportunity to get great, hands-on experience from one of the leading personal injury law firms. Sumitra found helping others so rewarding that she returned as an associate following her call to the bar in 2005.
Sumitra grew up in the National Capital Region and is bilingual in both English and French. After receiving her B.A. Hons from the University of Guelph, she went on to study law at the University of Western Ontario.
Sumitra is known as a big picture thinker who is particularly skillful in her written advocacy on behalf of clients. She takes the time to fully understand her client’s case and adeptly moves it forward towards resolution.
She is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, Hamilton Law Association and the Hamilton Medical-Legal Society.
In addition to her involvement in the legal community, Sumitra is an avid runner, who plays on, and also coaches, local soccer teams.
